1. Who we are

TradieDex is an Australian online platform that connects verified tradies with customers seeking trade services. We operate at tradiedex.com.au. References to "we", "us" or "TradieDex" in this policy refer to the operator of the TradieDex platform. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following types of personal information:

Information you provide directly

  • ·Australian Business Number (ABN)
  • ·Trades licence number and class
  • ·Insurance provider and policy details

  • ·Bank account details for invoicing — stored on your profile and never processed by TradieDex
  • ·Responses to our Trust Score assessment
  • ·Jobs, quotes, invoices and client records you create in the platform
  • ·Documents you upload to your document wallet
  • ·Income and expense records you enter
  • ·Safety checklist records

Information collected automatically

  • ·IP address and browser type
  • ·Pages visited and time spent on the platform
  • ·Device type and operating system
  • ·Log data and error reports

Information from third parties

  • ·Licence status from state government building and trade licensing registers — QBCC, VBA, Service NSW and equivalent bodies
  • ·ABN status from the Australian Business Register
  • ·Payment and subscription status from Stripe — we never receive or store your card details

3. Waitlist and marketing emails

When you join the TradieDex waitlist you expressly consent to receiving email updates about TradieDex including launch announcements, product updates and relevant offers. We collect your email address solely for this purpose until you create a full account.

We comply with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email we send includes a functional unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email or by emailing tradiedex@gmail.com. We will action your request within 5 business days.

We record the date and method of consent for all waitlist signups. We do not sell or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • ·Operate and provide the TradieDex platform and its features
  • ·Send you updates about TradieDex when you have joined our waitlist and consented to receive them
  • ·Verify your trades licence against official government registers
  • ·Verify your ABN against the Australian Business Register
  • ·Process subscription payments through Stripe
  • ·Display your verified profile to customers on the marketplace
  • ·Send you email notifications about quote requests, job requests, account activity and platform updates
  • ·Improve and personalise your experience on the platform
  • ·Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support
  • ·Comply with our legal obligations under Australian law
  • ·Detect and prevent fraud and unauthorised access
  • ·Generate aggregated anonymised analytics about platform usage

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With customers on the marketplace

When you create a public profile your business name, trade type, service areas, licence status, Trust Score and bio are visible to customers. You control what contact information is displayed through your privacy settings.

With customers who request quotes

When a customer submits a quote request to you we share their name, phone number, email and job description with you so you can respond.

With service providers

We share information with third party service providers who help us operate the platform including Supabase (database hosting in Australia and the United States), Vercel (website hosting), Stripe (payment processing) and Resend (email delivery). These providers are contractually required to protect your information.

When required by law

We may disclose your information when required by Australian law, court order or government authority.

With your consent

We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit consent.

6. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on servers located in Australia and the United States via Supabase. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information including:

  • ·Encryption of data in transit using TLS
  • ·Encryption of data at rest
  • ·Row-level security controls on all database tables
  • ·Access controls limiting which staff can access personal data
  • ·Regular security assessments

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We will notify affected users and relevant authorities of any data breach in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

7. Payment information

TradieDex does not store your credit card or banking details. All subscription payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. When you subscribe to a plan you are redirected to Stripe's secure hosted payment page. TradieDex only receives confirmation of whether a payment was successful and your subscription status.

Bank account details you add to your profile for invoicing purposes are stored securely in your profile and only appear on invoices you generate. TradieDex never processes payments between tradies and customers — all money flows directly between your client and your account.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the platform and remember your preferences. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

9. Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable Australian privacy law you have the right to:

  • ·Access the personal information we hold about you
  • ·Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • ·Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • ·Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
  • ·Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)

10. Data retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Waitlist email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe or create a full account.

If you cancel your subscription your profile data is retained for 30 days to allow you to export your information, after which it is deleted. Some information may be retained longer where required by law.

11. Children

TradieDex is not directed at children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child please contact us at tradiedex@gmail.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by email and by posting the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
